Twice in One Day
Well, it's quite fitting that I decided to write a blog on the same day that the book was delivered. Friendly Silver Lake mail delivery man just knocked on our door (screen/bar barricade-this is the big city) and handed over one amazon order. Book in hand, I will commence reading, and as of next Monday, I will attempt to implement one of these techniques a day for the rest of the school year. Wish me luck, my longevity as a teacher may depend on it.
Waiting for delivery
About me:
I'm a fourth year high school English teacher on the verge of losing sanity. Yes, maybe I am prone to overly high self-expectations and a slightly pessimistic nature. So I have determined to read the newly published book "How to Teach Like a Champion: 49 Techniques That Put Students on the Path to College" and see if I can salvage my own sense of well-being and support my students' learning in the process. Waiting for the book to arrive and taking a spring break breather this week.
The challenge:
49 techniques to improve my teaching over the remaining 49 days (approximately) of the school year. That's one technique a day until the end of the year. Stay tuned...
